Human!Kovu x Reader (Lion king 2)

*(Y/N)'s P.O.V*
My name is (Y/N) (L/N), daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala of the lion clan. My elder twin sister Kiara was next in line for the throne, she's  12 minutes older than me. I lived in my sisters shadow, she was the one my parents looked out for most...well my father would look out for her most, my mother cared for us equally.

And naturally my sister got the guy, Kovu. Adopted son of my father's ex nemesis Scar. He had a remarking resemblance to Scar but there were differences. The age being one and the personality another. Kovu was kind, yet devious. Scar was evil and devious. But both were misunderstood.

I sighed as I sat in the cave my mother combing through my hair as I watched Kovu nuzzle and cuddle with my sister. My mother chuckled "green was never your colour dear" she hummed.


I rolled my eyes "neither was blue" I said a saddened look on my features. My mother sighed putting down the comb and turning me around to look at her "your sister...she's naive (Y/N), she doesn't realize who is right for her and who is not" I rose a brow "are you saying her and Kovu don't belong together?" I questioned.

Nala smiled "I'm saying that maybe he belongs with you just a little more than he does with her, I don't want you two to fight but I don't want you to be sad my darling" she brushed a hair behind my ear.

"If you love someone, fight for them. Your sister moves on quickly, you don't. You deserve someone to spend the rest of your life with (Y/N). Now go" she pushed me towards the entrance of the cave. Kiara had just run off probably to hand out with Timon and Pumba. Leaving Kovu sitting on the edge of the rock.


I sat next to him nervously "oh (Y/N), was there something you needed?" he asked "uh n-...actually yes" I mumbled "I need you to listen to me, just hear me out for a few moments" I pleaded. Kovu rose a brow and nodded "Kiara is...Kiara is a great person but she doesn't know what she wants".

Kovue furrowed his brow in confusion "she wants something one moments and wants something else the next, she'll forget something as soon as she gets bored of it I mean, she's done that to me and I'm her sister".

I let out a sigh "just...keep your mind open, and your eyes. You never know if there's someone even greater out there" "you mean someone like you?" I gasped and turned around. There stood Kiara, her arms crossed with an angry look on her face, at her feet a dead gazelle.

I stood "I didn't mean-" "I know what you meant (Y/N)! You want him to yourself, you want everything that's mine!" she huffed. "N-no-" "don't even try to deny it! You've been jealous of me ever since we were born, well I'm not taking it anymore, Kovu is mine and you can't have him!" she stomped her foot.


"Kiara" my mother warned "no mother! Stop favouring her! I'm so tired of it". I balled my hands up at my sides as she continued to throw insults here and there "while your father favourites you Kiara! (Y/N) needs someone to love her, if neither you nor your father will do it then someone has to, whether it is me, her mother or Kovu" Nala snapped.

Kiara went silent a look of disbelief on her face at the news "have you any idea of how your sister has been suffering? In your shadow" Nala gently gripped my shoulders and began to pull me away,

I looked up at Kiara, she appeared ashamed and regretful. I thanked my mother for standing up to me, before I ran off. I ended up in the desert, sitting on a sand dune. Looking up at the darkened sky I saw the stars "Grandfather" I whispered "I never met you...but I feel that you'd know what to do".


I let out a sigh and lowered my head, I heard someone take a seat next to me. It was Kovu "that was quite the outburst back there" he muttered, I pursed my lips and nodded. "Do you want to know a secret?" he asked, I stayed silent allowing him to continue with telling me "I never loved Kiara" I looked at him in surprise.

"But she wouldn't let me go, she wouldn't let anyone else have me. I always-" he let out a breathy laugh "I always wanted you...not her" I let out a silent gasp. Kovu nodded "but she was adamant on keeping to herself, I had to act like I loved her just so...just so her dad wouldn't kill me" he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked "because she finally let me go, what your mum said...it finally opened her eyes to the truth" Kovu laid back in the sand. I followed his actions.


Kovu turned his head to the side to look at me, hesitantly gripping my hand. I looked back at him slightly flustered. His smiled widened "now nothing is holding me back (Y/N), I can finally spend the rest of my life with you"
